Ray has served as president of the Tennessee Building Officials Association, the Tennessee Plumbing and Mechanical Association, and the Middle Tennessee Codes Association. He was selected as an International Codes Council Young and Emerging Leader, and his contributions have been honored with awards such as Middle Tennessee Codes Association Code Official of the Year, and Tennessee Building Official Association Code Official of the Year.
